Tasty 2 Piece

The Creators of this fantastically adventurous musical met at Rockville High School as members of the schools theatre troupe The Golden Goose Players.  Sarah was a junior and Troy a freshman when they met at rehearsal one fateful afternoon. Led by Maggie Kline, these two learned every aspect of the theatrical arts from costuming to curtain calls and competed regionally against some of New England’s best theatre arts schools. Through college and beyond, these two creatives collaborated on a handful of productions including 2002’s original play Glass Spiders, a heartfelt response to the events of 9/11.  Now nearly two decades into their friendship, Sarah and Troy, inspired by their adolesence in small town Rockville, look to craft their first musical:  Tasty Chick…The Musical

The Merck Center of St. George’s School supports the development of Tasty Chick The Musical. About the Merck Center:
Since 2009, the Merck-Horton Center — named in honor of educational visionary Albert B. Merck ’39, P’76 and former Director of Instructional Services Beth Horton P’79, ’85 — has worked to bring the best, most up-to-date teaching and learning strategies to St. George’s classrooms. The program, a partnership with researchers at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, has attracted national attention through several publications — a rare accomplishment for a secondary school. But, as program director Tom Callahan notes, the center’s mission is a commitment to student success. “If there’s a better way to teach and learn,” he says, “we feel it’s our responsibility to provide it.“
